On January 29, 2024, the Palestinian aid center received a desperate call: a family was trapped in a car under fire from Israeli military forces. Moments later, only six-year-old Hind Rajab could be heard – alone among her deceased relatives, begging to be rescued. Using forensic-grade audio analysis and the testimony of relatives, the film transcends the headlines, creating a harrowing reconstruction of the real event.

“Two-time Oscar-nominated director Kaouther Ben Hania accidentally heard a recording of Hind Rajab’s phone call that had gone viral. The experience was so powerful that she immediately put on hold a project she had been developing for a decade and created this film within a single year. It is a minimalist work: the action takes place in a single space, and violence remains off-screen. The authentic audio recording becomes an irrefutable evidence of truth and an act of resistance against forgetting.” (Programme curator Karolis Žukas)
