Eighteen-year-old Lilija returns to her hometown for an art troupe audition. She decides to stay with her estranged grandparents Áróra and Grímur. Despite her grandmother’s rituals in the secret basement pool and her uncle’s unexplained illness, Lilja feels at home in the dark mansion. Ignoring the warnings of her relatives, she stays to celebrate her successful audition with her grandparents. When the girl’s family arrives to congratulate her, a seemingly ordinary celebration turns into a horrific tragedy.
