We bet you’ve never watched a movie in the water before! Introducing our latest festival highlight – on March 14th, we invite you to a special screening of the horror classic Jaws at the Lazdynai Swimming Pool. Bathing suit is a must!

The evening kicks off with a warm-up performance by professional divers, after which you’ll dive into the experience yourself while lounging on an inflatable ring or air mattress. We recommend bringing your favorite pool float from home for maximum comfort. If you don’t have one, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered.

About the iconic film Jaws (1975):

Tourists start disappearing from Long Island beaches. The local police captain suspects a shark is to blame, but the mayor insists it’s impossible. After all, the season is upon us – we need to sell sunbeds and ice cream, what sharks are we talking about?! More and more townspeople return to shore as bloody fragments, and soon everyone sees with their own eyes: a gigantic killer has arrived. Three men set out to battle the perfect killing machine. Once they head out to sea, they realize they may not return.

    Date: March 14th
Location: Lazdynai Swimming Pool, Erfurto St. 13

    Co-funded by Vlinius Municipality.

“Jaws entered film history as a blockbuster. But focusing solely on its entertainment value partly diminishes the sheer, almost unbelievable craftsmanship of the film. Steven Spielberg created countless iconic shots, many of which are still shown in film directing lectures today, and – most importantly – found a multitude of ways to build tension and terror while showing almost nothing. It would be a big mistake to think, “I won’t go see Jaws because I’m not interested in watching a shark eat people.” This film is for anyone interested in visual language.” (Programme curator Vladas Rožėnas)
