Eighty-four-year-old Vika is a star of Warsaw night clubs. The charismatic DJ and colorful bird spends time surrounded by youth and refuses to age, repeating that age is just a number. But when her health suddenly begins to deteriorate, Vika can no longer deny the passage of time. Will she see the meaning of sharing the joy of life with other seniors, encouraging them to live a fulfilling life? "Vika!" (2023) is a portrait of a woman who intends to celebrate life to the end, inspiring both the older generation and those who do not intend to grow old in the future.
The film was co-produced by HBO Max and My Way Studio. It was crowned with the recent Best
Director award in the Baltic Focus program at Artdocfest in Latvia and was nominated for the Best Documentary Feature at this year’s Polish Film Awards ORLY.
Following the screening organized in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, there will be Q&A session with the director Agnieszka Zwiefka and film protagonist Wirginia “Vika” Szmyt, both present on site.
