Abandoned by their mother in the sweltering summer heat, three sisters are forced to fend for themselves. Social services develop an interest in them. The sisters’ world consists of laughter and fear, and the connection between them turns into a bright flame against the approaching darkness. To maintain the fragile idyll of the house, the elder Laura resorts to a desperate plan: she aims to find a woman who will agree to pretend to be their mother.
