“The Lovers on the Bridge marks the beginning of Vilnius Film Festival - the very first film screened at the festival 30 years ago. Now, legendary French filmmaker Leos Carax, along with Juliette Binoche and Denis Lavant, returns to the festival’s anniversary lineup. The oldest bridge in Paris connects lost souls, reality, and dreams, while the film itself now serves as a bridge between the festival’s origins and its present, linking different eras of cinema history. It reflects on how Vilnius Film Festival audiences have changed, the power of cinema, and the enduring magic of a beautifully imperfect love story.” (Head of Programme Dovilė Grigaliūnaitė)
