It's summer in Budapest. A high school student named Abel is struggling to focus on his exams, all due to being hopelessly in love with his best friend Janka. In the meantime, Janka’s thoughts are occupied by her own unrequited love for a married history teacher, a man who has previously had a run-in with Abel’s conservative father. As the boy’s history exam turns into a national scandal, the tensions of a polarised society start bubbling to the surface.
