In 1949, Julia Child and her diplomat husband moved to Paris. Looking for something to do, she enrolled in Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, and this decision ultimately led to her groundbreaking book, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Fifty years later, we meet Julie Powell, who has a dull job in New York. Wanting to add some color to her life, she decides to cook all 524 recipes in Child’s book within a year and write about it on her blog.

“Reuniting The Devil Wears Prada’s iconic duo, Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci, alongside Amy Adams, Julie & Julia is pure cinematic comfort food. With a divine soundtrack, Meryl Streep dicing mountains of onions, and irresistibly sumptuous dishes, the film’s central challenge might just inspire your 2026 New Year’s resolution. An absolute delight and an enduring personal favorite of mine.” (Programme curator Margot Amadei)
