Wishing on a Star tells the story of Luciana, an eccentric Italian astrologer who offers birthday trips to clients looking for love, a purpose in life, or a fresh start. These trips, carefully calculated according to astrological charts, take them to different parts of the world, from Taiwan to Croatia. The film explores the universal need for meaning and change with humor and warmth, reminding us that sometimes all it takes to discover what really matters is a change of scenery.

“The director of 107 Mothers returns with another documentary that feels more like a feature film. Astrology skeptic Peter Kerekes put the project on hold for three years, but it took just one meeting with Luciana to change his mind. So, whether you believe that the alignment of stars influences us or not, Wishing on a Star will take you on a journey that explores the topics of loneliness, inner transformation, fate, and the power to change it.” (Programme curator Benita Paplauskaitė)
