Bruno has just stolen a TV set. Albert, in the meantime, has decided to take his own life after being made effectively homeless. Bruno saves the hapless stranger and an unexpected friendship develops between the two. They certainly have something in common: both are compulsive spenders, up to their necks in debt. Intent on getting their lives in order, Albert and Bruno happen upon a group of young eco-activists. Encouraged by the promise of free beer and crisps, the two men are quick to join the movement.
