MPV 2025 Submission Regulations. WORK IN PROGRESS GUIDELINES

General Aspects

  • Projects can be submitted to one of these two categories: Work in Progress – Development or Work in Progress – Production.
  • The deadline for submitting projects to the Work in Progress categories is January 7, 2025.
  • To submit the application and required materials, applicants must complete the online form by following this link.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • All application materials and subtitles must be in English.
  • Up to 10 projects will be selected for each category. 
  • The selection committee’s decisions are final and cannot be appealed.

Eligibility criteria for the Work in Progress – Development category

  • Feature films, documentaries or animated feature films may apply.
  • Projects must be in late development and have visual material (e.g., a teaser or excerpts) to show.
  • Projects can be from any country in Europe.
  • Priority will be given to films that are the director’s first or second feature film.
  • Selected project’s representative must be available to present projects onsite.

Eligibility criteria for the Work in Progress – Production category

  • Feature films, documentaries, or animated feature films may apply.
  • Projects must be in production or post-production and scheduled for completion and premiere between 2025 and early 2026.
  • Projects should be from Lithuania or co-produced with Lithuania.
  • Priority will be given to films that are the director’s first or second feature film.
  • Selected project’s representative must be available to present projects onsite.

Submission

  • All applications must include a completed online application form.
  • The film project materials, such as synopsis, technical information, trailer or film excerpt, high-resolution film stills, and other relevant content, must be available upon submission and permitted for promotion in the online and print materials of Meeting Point Vilnius.
  • The film trailer or excerpt should be subtitled in English.
  • All visual information and the pitch session should be presented in English.
  • Film projects must be submitted by January 7, 2025. No projects submitted after the official deadline will be considered. 
  • In separate cases MPV organizers are allowed to include projects after the official deadline.

Selection

  • The selection committee will evaluate the artistic value of the projects, along with their international and market potential.
  • Priority will be given to film projects that have the potential to attract major international film festivals, address topics relevant to a wide European audience, and seek partnerships with festivals, sales agents, and distributors worldwide.
  • Selection results will be announced by February 12, 2025.
  • Once selected, a representative (preferably the producer and/or director) of the chosen film project must attend the industry event, Meeting Point Vilnius, and personally pitch the project to an international professional audience during the Work in Progress session on March 17-18, 2025.
  • Online participation is not permitted.

Pitch session

  • All selected projects are required to give an up to 10-minute presentation that includes an oral overview of the full project package (covering creative, financial, legal elements already in place or in progress, distribution potential, etc.), along with a visual presentation of the trailer, film excerpt, or other relevant materials related to the film.
  • The presentation should be conducted in English and all visual materials should include English subtitles.

Credits

Selected projects should mention Meeting Point Vilnius in their closing credits. Preferably, the credits should include the following sentence: “The film was presented during the international industry event Meeting Point Vilnius.” The event logo can be found on the website or sent to producers upon request.
