British journalist Arthur Stewart, who works for a New York daily newspaper, receives an assignment to write an article about the life of glam rock star Brian Slade. In 1971, Slade drove his fans crazy with his unbridled openness on stage. His music and lyrics are bold and passionate, and his attitude is sexually provocative. The new god of music has become a herald of unlimited freedom, but it also leads to his demise: he fakes his own death. Inspired by David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and other music icons, the film presents the myth of the pop star wrapped in the amazing costumes of designer Sandy Powell.
