A single mother and famous actress, Elisabeth, is called to her son's school. She can't believe it when she hears that her six-year-old son Armand has done something wrong to his classmate. This news is accompanied by the anger and long-held resentment of the other child's mother. Elisabeth gradually realizes that others perceive her as always playing a role. Soon, a strange game of adults begins. Film subtly reveals the intrigues of the adults, slowly unraveling a tangled web of secrets and omissions, but avoids providing easy and clear answers.

“Renate Reinsve, who won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress for her role in The Worst Person in the World, delivers another unforgettable performance. Director Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel, the grandson of legendary filmmakers Ingmar Bergman and Liv Ullmann, earned the prestigious Caméra d’Or at Cannes for this debut. Here, a thriller turns into a dance performance, and laughter into hysteria. Armand is a must-see for those who enjoy diving into interpretations and discussions after leaving the cinema.” (Programme curator Karolis Žukas)
