The 2024 edition of MPV will be held in Vilnius March 24-27, 2024

COMING SOON is the Work in Progress session dedicated to films from all over Europe. Priority will be given to films that are the director’s 1st or 2nd feature film.

Up to 20 projects will be selected for the 2024 pitching session that will take place in the onsite edition March 24-27 and will have a dedicated schedule of individual meetings with decision makers.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Projects must be feature films, documentaries or animated feature films;
  • Projects must be in pre-production, production or post-production and scheduled to be completed and premiered between 2024 and early 2025.

  • complete online application form.

MPV 2024 Submission Regulations COMING SOON GUIDELINES

General Aspects:

The deadline to submit a project to Coming Soon is FEBRUARY 23, 2024

  • To submit your application and required material you need to create or use your account and fill in the online form following this link.
  • Incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration.
  • Application materials and subtitles should be in English.
  • The selection committee’s decisions cannot be appealed.

Eligibility criteria for the Coming Soon session:

  • directors must come from eligible countries*.
  • feature films, documentaries or animation feature films may apply.
  • projects must be in pre-production, production, or post-production and scheduled to be completed and premiered between 2024 and early 2025.

Submission:

  • All applications must include the complete online application form.
  • The visual material of the film project – trailer or excerpt of the film, as well as two high-resolution film stills and main information should be available upon project submission and should be allowed to be promoted in online and print materials of Meeting Point – Vilnius.
  • Film trailer or excerpt of the film ideally no longer than 5 min. should be subtitled in English.
  • Other visual information and pitch session should be presented in English.
  • Film projects should be submitted by February 23, 2024. No project will be evaluated after the official deadline.

Selection:

  • An international selection committee will evaluate the artistic value of the projects, their international and market potential.
  • Priority will be given to film projects that have potential to draw the attention of major international film festivals, develop topics relevant to a wide European audience, as well as aim to look for festivals, sales agents, and distributors worldwide.
  • Selection results will be announced late February 2024.
  • Once selected, a representative (preferably producer and/or director) of the selected film project must attend the industry event Meeting Point – Vilnius and personally pitch the project to an international professional audience during the Coming Soon session on March 24- 27, 2024.

Pitch session:

  • All selected projects will be asked to give a 7-minute presentation that combines an oral presentation of the full project package (creative, financial elements, legal already taken or in progress elements, distribution potential) and visual presentation of the trailer, film excerpt or other relevant visual material related to the film.
  • The presentation should be given in English and all the presented visual material should have English subtitles.

Recommendations:

  • The selected projectsshould mention Meeting Point – Vilniusin their closing credits. Preferably, the closing credits should include the following sentence: “[film title] was presented during International Industry event Meeting Point – Vilnius”. The logo of the event could be found on the website or could be sent to the producers upon request.
