Each film offers a captivating and unique perspective, prompting reflection on diverse themes: the bravery to embrace change and shape one's fate, the quest for truth, the struggle with addiction, and our fundamental interdependence. An international jury will evaluate the films in competition, with the winner receiving a 3,000 euro prize.

    Bogdan Mureșanu – a Romanian director, screenwriter, and producer, known for his short film 'The Christmas Gift', which won the European Film Academy's Best Short Film Award. His debut feature film 'The New Year That Never Came' was presented in the 'Orizzonti' section of the Venice Film Festival, where it won the Best Film Award. Mureșanu's work is dominated by historical and social themes, often related to the legacy of communism in Romania, and his distinctive storytelling style blends tragicomedy, tense moments, and subtle humor. His films are shown at prestigious festivals, receive international critical acclaim, and offer audiences a new perspective on Eastern European history through personal stories and emotional impact.

    Gabrielė Cegialytė
    Gabrielė Cegialytė has been working in the film industry for more than 10 years. In 2016, she joined the Lithuanian short film agency "Lithuanian Shorts”, a prominent NGO fostering short film culture domestically and internationally. Gabriele’s role within the "Lithuanian Shorts” encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from projects’ management to short film curation and strategic promotion, and representation of the Lithuanian film industry. She has been an integral member of the Vilnius Short Film Festival team for almost a decade, transitioning through different roles and ascending to the position of Managing Director in 2022. She has been the manager of the "Baltic Pitching Forum” since 2017, the leading short film industry event in the Baltic region.

    Mariana Hristova
    Mariana Hristova is a Barcelona-based Bulgarian film critic and programmer, keeping an eye on Nordic, Baltic, Eastern European, Central Asian and Arab film, and with a special interest in avant-garde, amateur and underrepresented cinema. She is a regular contributor to Cineuropa, The New Arab, Nordisk Film & TV Fond Newsletter and Filmsociety.bg, a member of FIPRESCI, FEDEORA and the European Film Academy. She is also part of the short film selection committee for the Sheffield DocFest and collaborates as a curator with Filmoteca de Catalunya with programs promoting Eastern European cinema.
