The program is presented by
Jérémy spends his days behind a video store counter, a world far away from the American basketball courts he admires on VHS tapes. Meanwhile, Bouna works the cleaning shifts at the airport, grounded by a lack of prospects a disappearing wi-fi signal. On paper, nothing suggests they are destined to break inandto—let alone dominate—the cutthroat world of professional basketball. From the producers of The Intouchables comes the incredible true story of two outsiders who defied every obstacle to chase their American Dream.

"The American Dream draws inspiration from the real-life journeys of Bouna Ndiaye and Jérémy Medjana, two French agents who have become powerhouses in the NBA. Their story is reimagined here not as a documentary, but as a fictionalized retelling of the tumultuous beginnings. Driven by themes of resilience, hard work, and loyalty, it evokes the spirit of classic American 'outsider' cinema while maintaining a distinct French identity. Ultimately, The American Dream is designed for a broad audience, reaching far beyond the confines of NBA fandom." (Programme curator Karolis Žukas)
