Dig! XX

Dig! XX

To like
In 1996, two young bands—The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Dandy Warhols—were steadily rising to stardom. But for a rocker, nothing is more terrifying than being labelled a ‘sellout.’ Impending success and the promise of money drive a wedge between the two groups of friends, igniting something akin to a musical war. But the real question remains – will their own chaotic lifestyles and spiraling drug use ultimately destroy them first? DIG! XX is a newly remastered version of the cult classic, featuring previously unseen footage.

“The archetype of the genius creator never fails to fascinate us. Perhaps even more so today, as we better understand its deep ties to exploitation and (self) destruction. DIG! XX captures the raw, unfiltered reality of musicians' lives – megalomania, drugs, hit songs, and failures. They burn through hundreds of thousands of dollars on music videos, they can barely afford petrol. This is a gateway into the exact same world, only seen through an entirely different set of eyes – perhaps those of a genius, or maybe a madman.” (Programme curator Vladas Rožėnas)
