Director Asmae El Moudir wants to know why she only has one childhood photo, and why it is probably not even her in that photo. With the help of her parents, El Moudir builds a model of the neighborhood in Casablanca where she grew up. While working on it, she questions her mother, father, and grandmother about the past, her home, and her country. This slowly unravels the web of lies that was carefully preserved for decades. The complex relationship between her personal life and the 1981 Bread Riots, a pivotal event in Moroccan history, is revealed.
