The young “Meno avilys” film programmers presents a special programme titled “Close Your Eyes, Darlings”. These films explore the topic of personal boundaries and the issues we face when trying to maintain them in our relationships with others. The ironic title of the programme is designed to function as a gentle provocation, while the selected works are meant to stir the viewers and to remind them just how important sensitivity and caring for both yourself and others are in today’s increasingly fractured world.

Road trips and spaceships, artistic wanderings and the search for love, friendships formed under unexpected circumstances and exciting bank robberies. This selection of comedies is chock-full of the absurd, the edgy and the increasingly surprising – all designed to make you laugh out loud or simply experience a pleasant sense of warmth.

This collection of films explore the topic of sustainability from a wide range of angles: from ecology to migration and human rights. The stories told by these films, the cinematic language they use, and the technical tools they employ transports us from the past to the future, stimulating empathy and sensitivity to our surroundings, even if they are inhabited by those different from us.

The festival itself will feature a selection of films that director Saulė Bliuvaitė has been inspired by, a screening of a Talking Heads concert, and a secret film.
