Leila and Damien are deeply in love. Despite his bipolarity, they try to pursue their life together and raise a child. The boy adores his wonderfully impulsive dad and cares for him when he struggles. Leila can already tell exactly when the change is coming, and she is reaching her limits. Avoiding judgement and cliches, director Joachim Lafosse takes us through the cycles of episodes as lived by this seemingly strong family.
“A heartbreaking story, beautiful in its sincerity and maturity. Full of love and compassion, The Restless is unique in its dedication to its characters which makes the film a very memorable experience. Emotionally overwhelming, the gaze of the two main characters, Leila and Damien, will stay with the spectator forever.” (Marija Fridinovaitė)
