Rio de Janeiro, 1950. Euridice, 18 and Guida, 20, are two inseparable sisters. They live at home with their despotic father, and have different hopes for future: Euridice dreams of becoming a renowned pianist, and less talented Guida wants to find a true love. Because of their father, they are forced to live without one another. Separated, they will take control of their destiny, while never giving up on their hope of being reunited. This tropical melodrama won Un Certain Regard competition in Cannes.

„The film praises solidarity of women which can resist all calamities. This film provides strong sensual experience. With saturated colors, momentous music, director seeks to portray the lives of women wrecked by toxic patriarchy." (Aistė Račaitytė)
