In March 2018, northern white rhino Sudan died in Kenya. He was the only remaining male of this rare species. In the last days of his life, Sudan was protected from poachers by armed bodyguards around the clock, but also surrounded by journalists, tourists with selfie sticks, and scientists determined to find a way to reproduce him before it's too late. At the center of all this stands weary but still majestic Sudan, who becomes an ironic reflection of egoistic and (self)destructive humanity.

"The director's story about the rhino Sudan highlighted megalomania as an essential feature that distinguishes human from other forms of life. And at the very moment when the threat of extinction turns into attraction, she created a tragicomedy. Only it's not about Sudan." (Dovilė Raustytė-Mateikė)
