Laika, a stray dog, was one of the first living beings to be sent into space, and to a certain death. According to a legend, she came back to earth as a ghost and up to this day keeps roaming the streets of Moscow with her descendants. What is she looking for, and what is going through her head? Does she remember the stars? It's an intimate, cruel yet magical tale of four-legged explorers of the unknown, captured from a dog's perspective and filled with rare archival footage from the Soviet cosmic era.
"Winner of two awards at the Locarno Film Festival, this documentary provokes a debate on the nature of the relationship between humans and animals, and, as directors of the film put it themselves, what do these animals have to say about our world? These are important and relevant questions." (Gediminas Kukta)
