Programme
A locked door in an apartment in Belgrade, which has not been opened for more than 65 years, drives the desire to explore what comes after a democratic revolution. Director Mila Turajlic paints a poignant portrait of her mother, a prominent political activist, Srbijanka Turajlic, who played a leading role in the revolution. Faced with the symbol of how the political becomes the personal, the chronicle of a family in Serbia becomes a portrait of choices one makes, from struggling against repression to dealing with disillusion under transition. Time has changed, but something very similar is at stake in the country again. Does the new generation view things in a similar way?
