The five Moochmore girls are convinced they are crazy. Their mother, Shirley suffers a nervous breakdown, unable to cope with her demanding teenage daughters and philandering politican husband, Barry, who neglects the family. After Barry commits his wife to a mental hospital he finds himself alone with five teenage girls he barely knows. Desperate, he risks his all and hires a hitchhiker, Shaz. With her trusty dog Ripper and a sharp knife tucked into her boot, the accidental nanny turns into a sort of eccentric Mary Poppins. Her methods are debatable, of course, but perhaps Shaz is the only one who can bring some order to the chaotic household.
