Having lost her parents in the war, twenty-three-year-old Rahima is now committed to keeping her fourteen-year-old brother Nedim out of the hands of the state. Rahima has had her own share of trouble with the law while growing up, and is determined to keep her little brother on the right side of the tracks. A summons to the headmaster’s office over a broken cellphone eventually reveals that Nedim is on the verge of full-blown criminal activity. As her family threatens to be torn apart once again, Rahima tries to find strength in her Muslim faith – but in this harsh world where politicians and criminals line their pockets while the vast majority toil away in grinding poverty, there are few places to turn to for help.
