He strugglingLos Angeleswriter Calvin Weir-Fields is suffering from writer’s block after the success with his debut novel many years back. Following the advice of his therapist, Calvin starts to create a character: his dream girl, Ruby Sparks. One morning Ruby, a smart and charming redhead, has actually taken physical form and is standing by Calvin’s typewriter. As it turns out, wishing Ruby out of existence doesn’t work, and Calvin has to put his imagination into labor.
