Miro, an immigrant from the former Yugoslavia, now resides inToronto, after having lived in several cities; he never stays in one location too long, in part because he has a difficult time making lasting connections with anyone. When Miro discovers that his old friend Dado, a war profiteer who has been missing for almost two decades, is now wanted for war crimes, Miro’s life starts to unravel. He embarks on a trip back toBosniato find his friend. Gathering stories and clues from neighbours and family about Dado’s potential whereabouts, Miro travels through towns and across the vast, tranquil Bosnian countryside.
