Julie is turning thirty and her life is an existential mess. Several of her talents have gone to waste and her older boyfriend, Aksel – a successful graphic novelist – is pushing for them to settle down. One night, she gatecrashes a party and meets the young and charming Eivind. Before long, she has broken up with Aksel and thrown herself into yet another new relationship, hoping for a new perspective on her life. Or are some life choices already behind her after all?
„It may be the most jolly and precise film about the nowness. Every millennial will easily identify with the main actress and others will learn a bit more about this unbearable anxiety coming from the vast possibilities, and ruling cult of individualism and self-realization. Film’s emotional palette is really wide therefore I promise tears from both laughter and empathy.“ (Aistė Račaitytė)
World Premiere: Cannes Film Festival, Official Competition, 2021
Awards: Renate Reinsve - Best Actress, Cannes, 2021
