Beatriz married Henrique on the day of her 21st birthday. Henrique, a naval officer, would spend long periods at sea. Ashore, Beatriz, who learned everything from the verticality of plants, took great care of the roots of their six children. The oldest son, Jacinto (Hyacinth) dreamed he could be a bird. His daughter makes a hybrid film, which recalls the lives of Beatriz, Henrique and their children, and whose narrative is largely based on letters that wander between the sea and the shore.
„Incredibly fresh and poetic film from Portugal fuses documentary with fantasy to create an original and gentle work about self-reflection and connection to the roots of origin." (Aistė Račaitytė)
