A young boy named Carlos – director's alter ego– travels from Portugal to Africa looking for his mother. She left him when he was a teenager, having stayed on this continent for a bird that could live for 150 years. Now, hearing the call of his mother's voice, Carlos begins an odyssey through mountains and plains, rocks and sand, mythological spaces and sci-fi-like territories. Back to the colonial past and forward to an unknown future. Journey towards the final destination and himself.
