Mother lives with her mentally-challenged son Do-joon. When a girl is murdered, circumstantial evidence suggests his guilt. Do-joon has troubles with his fuzzy memory. Eager to close the case, sloppy cops make him prime suspect. Do-Joon is sentenced to life in prison. Mother will do whatever she must to find the killer - even if it means breaking the law. This thriller is one of the most watched South Korean films of all time. For the first time in Lithuania it will be shown in black and white.
"The director sought to distort the depiction of an unconditionally loving mother in Korean cinema, especially on television, to portray love as pathological, take it to a much darker place. For that darkness and suspense a lot of critics have described filmas being very "Hitchcockian". As if to justify it, five years after the film's release, the director introduced a black and white remastered version which we will present at the festival." (Dovilė Raustytė-Mateikė)
