The Western circuit of vlogs and YouTube are nothing compared to virtual chat rooms that are so popular in China. More than 422 million Chinese used live-streaming platforms in 2017 alone. This film, created from over 800 hours of broadcasting footage, is a collective portrait of people who are forgotten and marginalized. A factory worker, a man with facial burns, a paralyzed girl, a transvestite – they all find refuge in a place that eliminates boundaries between real and virtual, loneliness and fellowship.

"The film that has won the main prize in the Rotterdam Film Festival, prompts to think not only of the virtual reality that unites (or separates) us, but also asks what is or what is not cinema of today? Where are those boundaries? Finally, is it so important to draw them?" (Gediminas Kukta)
