Milan, the 40-year-old construction worker, returns to his home in Slovak village from emigration in Germany. His three children and wife meet him at a cozy Christmas table. The festive idyll is disturbed with the news of a suicide of the eldest son Adam's classmate. It is suspected that Adam, a member of the paramilitary organization, is somehow involved in the disaster. Milan's family gets caught up in a bunch of misfortunes. Milan Ondrík won the best male actor award at Karlovy Vary Film Festival.

The political climate has become increasingly welcoming to the growth of nationalism and xenophobia. This family drama provokes questions about our moral, civic values, about roles in the family, in the surrounding communities, country and the entire world, and our underlying duty for future generations." (Dovilė Raustytė-Mateikė)
