Yoav, a young Israeli, is determined to wipe out his origins and become French. He wakes up naked in a bath in an empty flat, robbed of all his belongings. A young French couple helps him and become his guides in the unknown city. Yoav will not utter a single word of Hebrew and tries to find new identity – from wearing stylish clothes to learning as many French language synonyms as possible. Awarded Golden Bear in Berlin, this ingenious film speaks about an attempt to create yourself anew.
"From the first minute this film promises an extraordinary trip, where political contexts and questions of identity unfold thanks to original directing and strong script. Unforgettable acting and editing create sharp and comical mood. The freedom of this film, I believe, will remind of the best examples of French New Wave." (Mantė Valiūnaitė)
