In the early 18th century an African slave boy is chosen by a European Countess to be baptized and educated. Everyone admires boy's achievements and the kindness of the Countess. Having reached adulthood, Angelo achieves prominence and soon becomes the favorite at the Vienna's Imperial Palace, until he decides to secretly marry a white woman. Doing so, Angelo inevitably suffers the rejection from the royalty. Despite of being recognized and admired, he still realizes that his differences will never be erased.
