After graduation, young and arrogant Sinan returns to hometown with the purpose to publish his first book. Sinan's father is a teacher of poor reputation due to his gambling problems. The relationship between father and son becomes the basis of the story which resonates with the seasonal change, revealing the beauty of both Turkey's and human nature. Nuri Bilge Ceylan, who won the Palme d'Or for „Winter Sleep", returned to Cannes competition four years later with this smooth, magnetizing and wise drama.
