Joy is 25 years old, but she seems stopped in time. Ever since she broke up with her boyfriend, she wanders around the nostalgia of a relationship that only exists in the memory of a USB flash drive. This late and alienated teen spends her days hidden in the cables of her headphones eating fries with ketchup, fueling her suffering with trans fat. In order to anesthetize the pain, Joy dates other guys, but the company of someone whose breathingis different from the one of the man she loves only deepens her emptiness. Director Hadas Ben Aroya herself embodies the protagonist, casting a spell on the film’s introspective sequences with her mysterious gaze. The camera gets beneath the sheets she shares with her lovers, displaying an intimacy so fresh that we can almost smell the sweat of different skins melting with each other.
