It has been over one hundred years since M. K. Čiurlionis left his lasting imprint on Lithuanian culture. He was a composer, painter, genius, and madman who created an entirely new space, new context, and new universe. He was a prolific creator who died young, unknown, and in desolation. The film’s main character – the talented pianist Rokas Zubovas who is the grandson of M.K. Čiurlionis – searches for the roots of his identity. Shot in black and white, the film is interspersed with colour paintings and photographs taken by M. K. Čiurlionis. The film uses music and letters written by the composer. Romas Lileikis (b. 1959) is a veteran scriptwriter and director who has also created several music projects.
