This short film by Rudolfas Levulis examines the current context of Lithuania's national song festival, which is much different today than it was in Soviet times when it was a grand event that operated as a vehicle for the expression of Lithuanian identity. Since the restoration of its independence, the attitudes of Lithuanians towards national values and the song celebration have begun to shift. Rudolfas Levulis (b. 1982) is an artist of the younger generation who studied Photography and Media Art at the Vilnius Art Academy. He creates social and public art projects. His works are complex, multi-stage, and interactive. They are realized using various forms of media – from virtual spaces to everyday surroundings (streets or exhibition halls).
