Vincenzo Marra's feature-length debut is a Neo-Realist slice-of-life drama that pays tribute to the mythical profession of deep-sea fishing. The film follows a four-man team of lower-class fishermen who struggle to make ends meet. Forced out of illegal waters by a consistently menacing patrol guard just off the coast of Africa, the fisherman settle in and around Sicily. But, gradually, each man begins to pine for his stable life in Naples, and after a group meeting, they decide to venture home.
