Kiss of Life
Added to my films

Last year’s best British picture is an intricate and moving journey into the heart of a family, which emphasizes the importance of love. Helen lives in London with her two children, 14-year-old Kate and 9-year-old Telly, as well as her elderly father, Pap. Her husband John is an aid-worker, who has been away overseas for many months. Since her birthday is approaching, Helen is feeling the strain of his absence and is anxious for him to return. After walking her children to school one morning, Helen is hit by a car and seemingly killed. In reality she remains caught in limbo, trapped between life and death. Many miles away, in war-torn Eastern Europe, John is unaware that his wife is dead. She doesn’t realise it either.
