18 projects have been selected for over 50 applications to be shown during Coming Soon from Baltics and Coming Soon New Talents presentations during Meeting point – Vilnius on April 5th at Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square Vilnius.
Coming Soon from Baltics
Both debuting and experienced directors from the Baltic countries – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – are presented in this category. This is a showcase of feature-length narratives, documentaries and animated film project from Baltic countries, that will be finished until the end of the year. This year Meeting Point – Vilnius is collaborating with the Marché du Film industry programme Goes to Cannes and 3 projects will be selected by the jury to be presented in Industry screenings in Cannes 2017.

Coming Soon New Talents
Coming Soon New Talents focuses on debuting filmmakers presenting their first or second feature films. Participants come from Central and Eastern Europe: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, and Serbia, as well as Eastern partnership countries: Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. Feature-length narratives, documentaries and animated film project should be completed and premiere until the end of the year. This year Meeting Point – Vilnius is collaborating with the Marché du Film industry programme Goes to Cannes and 3 projects will be selected by the jury to be presented in Industry screenings in Cannes 2017.

2015 Mellow Mud by Renards Vimba (Latvia) premiered in Berlinale side section Generation 14Plus and won Crystal Bear for best film in this programme. Also the film found it’s sales agent german Pluto film. Other awards included Best Director Award in Cyprus Film Days IFF.
2015 Hi, Rasma by L.Pakalnina (Latvia) premiered in Visions du Reel IFF, also Pärnu International Documentary and Anthropology Film Festival, Vilnius Documentary Film Festival, Riga International Film Festival, Lübeck Nordic Film Days.
2014 The summer of Sangaile by A.Kavaite (Lithuania) premiered in Sundance IFF and got the Best Director Award, also screened in Berlin IFF and 50 international film festivals, received Best Film Award at National Film and TV Awards in Lithuania.
2014 Tangerines by Z.Urushadze (Estonia, Georgia) – Nominee for the Golden Globe and Academy Award for foreign language film, also over 30 International film festivals including Best Director and Audience Award in Warsaw IFF, Best Estonian Film in Tallinn Black Nights IFF and Best Director in Tbilisi IFF. 2014 Master and Tatyana by G.Žickytė (Lithuania) – Best Director Award at National Film and TV Awards in Lithuania., screened in almost 10 international documentary festivals, including Leipzig DOC, IDFA.
