Meeting Point – Vilnius Started With Industry News from the Baltics

On April 4th, Zero Day kicked off the 8th cinema industry conference Meeting Point – Vilnius. The first day focused on filmmaking in the Baltic countries.

Creative Europe MEDIA bureau presented an overview of news and trends. The most important topic of the day was cooperation between Baltic countries. Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian film centre representatives, distributors, producers and agents discussed further possibilities of working together. Participants shared experiences to figure out how to help professional cinema.

Zero Day also held presentations on the discovery of new talents and professional improvement. Various film platforms were presented, including School of Film Agents SOFA, screenwriting workshop MIDPOINT, film festival training programme Developing Your Film Festival, and the Lithuanian-organised Art Department Masterclass.

The day ended on an inspiring note, with a talk by Gediminas Šiaulys, director of animated 3D short film “Running Lights”. Šiaulys shared his experiences of working on the film, which took 4 years to finish and premiered at this year’s Kino Pavasaris.
