Lithuanian Film “The Ancient Woods” to Close the Festival (photos)
12 Lithuanian films will premiere during Vilnius IFF, including “The Ancient Woods” by Mindaugas Survila, which was selected to close the festival. The hypnotising documentary about Lithuanian woods took 10 years to complete and received great reviews after its world premiere at IDFA, the leading documentary film festival held in Amsterdam.

Also included in the Lithuanian film programme is “Breathing into Marble” by Giedrė Beinoriūtė, based on an award-winning novel. New Lithuanian films will compete in the Student Film and Short Competition programmes. They are “Aldebaran” by Indrė Juškutė, “The Daytime Is Not For Me” by Akvilė Žilionytė, “My Neighbour’s Cousin” by Kotryna Buruckaitė, “Mono No Aware” by Emilija Juzeliūnaitė, “Snake” by Titas Laucius, “Vytis” by Jevgenij Tichonov, “By the Pool” by Laurynas Bareiša, and “Unburied” by Elvina Nevardauskaitė and David Heinemann.
The nominees for best Lithuanian actress and actor have been announced as well. Their memorable performances can be seen during Vilnius IFF, as well as in previously released films.
