Meeting Point - Vilnius

8th edition of “Meeting Point – Vilnius“ will take place on April 4th - 6th , 2017, during International Film Festival “Kino Pavasaris”, March 23rd - April 6th, 2017.

“Meeting Point – Vilnius“ is a growing international film industry event, attracting film professionals from Lithuania, Baltic countries and all around the Europe. Over 300 film professionals are coming to Vilnius every spring to participate in three days events – conference on audiovisual topics, Coming soon project presentations from Baltic as well as Central and Eastern Europe countries, Industry screenings, European Film Forum and networking. Due to its geographic position, Vilnius is a perfect meeting place for filmmakers from Eastern and Central Europe to present their latest films to the significant film festival programmers, film producers, agents and distributors. 

The European Film Forum

“Meeting Point – Vilnius“ 2017 presents an exciting partnership with one of the most important film industry events in Europe ­– The European Film Forum (EFF). It was proposed by The European Commision in its 2014 Communication on the European Film in the digital era. Since its launch in 2015, forum has been held in Cannes film festival, Berlin international film festival, Venice International Film Festival and other major festivals. Its 3rd year edition, among other festivals,  will take place in “Meeting Point – Vilnius“ on April 6th, 2017. The programme of the event will be announced soon.

Coming Soon New Talents

Filmmakers debutants (first or second full length films) from Central and Eastern Europe countries are welcome to apply for Coming Soon session with feature, documentaries and animated full-length film projects.  Films should be completed and premiered from April 10, 2016 until December 31, 2017. Projects can be submitted via online system https://vp.eventival.eu/viff/2017 until 20th of February, 2017

Coming soon from Baltics

Filmmakers from Baltic states - Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia - do not necessarily have to be debutants to apply.Films should be completed and premiered from April 10, 2016 until December 31, 2017. Projects can be submitted via online system https://vp.eventival.eu/viff/2017 until 20th of February, 2017.

This year the programmers of Vilnius International Film Festival “Kino Pavasaris” and special Industry event “Meeting Point – Vilnius” jury will select 3 films from Coming Soon section that will be shown in Le Marché du Film industry programme “Goes to Cannes”.  Le Marché du Film industry programme “Goes to Cannes” partners with renowned film festivals by screening selected works in progress to film festival programmers, sales agents and distributors. 

Filmmakers from Baltic and post-soviet countries have an opportunity to present their latest films to the significant film festival programmers, film producers, agents and distributors from all over Europe.

CONFERENCE

Zero Day - first conference day is devoted to Lithuanian film industry members and includes presentations by local and international speakers, inspirational talks and panel discussions.

Two other days of conference are dedicated to the in depth plunge into the vast world of film marketing, promotion, audience building – speakers from different fields share their experience and deliver presentations on how to make the best of the film after it is made.

Inspiring talks – an informal chat with the inspiring filmmaker at the end of the intensive working day.

Film Festival Symposium - a side session for the film festival directors on taking film festival organising into another level.

Coming Soon Session - upcoming feature, documentaries and animated full-length films are presented to film festival programmers, film producers, agents and distributors during the session.

Industry Screenings - feature, documentary and animation full-length and short films are screened to industry professionals at private or invite-only screenings.  

Who are eligible submitting their film projects:

Filmmakers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan are eligible submitting their film projects.
